As a car wash owner, I totally got it and personally went through the process of setting up my own Car Wash Signs for my shop.
Create Car Wash Signs for a Successful Campaign
- Keep it Simple: The first thing to do is make your sign easy to read and understand. Try Using clear and concise language to convey your message. Please I would avoid using too many words or complicated jargon.
- Highlight Your Services: The next thing is to make sure your sign clearly communicates the services you offer. List down in bullet points or a table to list your services.
- Offer Deals: Who doesn’t love deals? People love deals, so use your sign to promote your latest offers. Use bold text and bright colors to make your offer stand out. For example, I could offer a discount on a certain day of the week or for first-time customers.
- Use Images: A picture is worth a thousand words, so use images to convey your message.
- Keep it Updated: Once your sign is done, don’t keep them as they are for long. Make sure your sign is up to date and reflects the current state of your business. Let’s say you have new services or offers, update your sign to reflect them
Essentials of Car Wash Signage Design
I think a well-designed sign should be attractive, easy to read, waterproof, and durable.
1. Choosing the Right Font and Colors
This is the most important part in that is choosing the right font and colors is crucial for creating an attractive and readable car wash sign.
You must make sure that the font should be easy to read and legible from a distance. It’s not recommended to use fancy or ornate fonts that are difficult to read. Instead, I use a simple and straightforward font like Arial or Helvetica.
When it comes to colors, choose colors that are eye-catching and easy to read. Full-color designs are ideal for attracting attention, but be careful not to use too many colors that can be overwhelming.
2. Add Logo and Branding Elements
Adding a logo is crucial for building brand recognition and trust.
You will have a second thought about buying or washing your car at an unidentified shop with no name or logo to represent the brand.
3. Visibility and Readability
No matter the weather conditions, your logo and car wash sign must be visible at all times, be it rainy or sunny, day or night.
4. Material Options for Durability
I personally have a Vinyl banner for my Norwich Car Wash and they are a popular option for custom car wash signs because they are waterproof and durable. They can also be printed in full color and are easy to install.
Some other options that I would recommend include aluminum signs, which are lightweight and durable, and corrugated plastic signs, which are affordable and weather-resistant.
When choosing the materials, Consider the climate in your area and choose a material that can withstand the elements.
Humorous Phrases to include on a Car wash sign
A witty and humorous sign can catch the attention of potential customers and make them more likely to choose your car wash over the competition.
- “Cleaning up this town, one car at a time.”
- “If your car is not coming to you, you should be coming to us.”
- “You like it clean, we like it dirty.”
- “Wash me, baby, one more time.”
- “We’re the soap stars of the car wash world.”
- “Come for the wash, stay for the smiles.”
- “We’re the clean team, and we’re here to make your car shine.”
Materials For Homemade Car Wash Signs
I use a Vinyl banner for my Car Wash but you can choose from these options. They all are good and will work for pretty much all situations.
Coroplast
Coroplast is basically corrugated plastic material. I would say if you need a lightweight, durable, and weather-resistant one, then you should go for this one.
You can cut to any shape or size and the plus part is that it’s also affordable and can be reused multiple times.
PVC
PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is also a plastic material and is strong, lightweight, and durable.
If you plan on keeping your car wash signs outside, you should opt for this as they are weather-resistant and won’t fade or crack in the sun.
Aluminum
Another option for outdoor use which is again durable, weather-resistant, and won’t rust or fade over time.
Let’s say even if they fade, you can always paint them or print them on, and can be cut to any shape or size.
Vinyl Banners
I used Vinyl banners because I needed something affordable, lightweight, and easy to install. Guess what? they tick all my needs.
Vinyl banners can also be hung from a fence or building, or attached to a frame. (I hung it on a wall, in case you are wondering)
Chalkboard
umm, this one is the most versatile and fun way but not practical for rainy places. Chalkboard signs can be changed frequently to promote different specials or services.
